Welcome to a special Transgender and LGBTQ roundtable discussion special. We've gathered eight individuals with different backgrounds and experiences including transgender, cisgender, intersex, straight, lesbian, ex-military, licensed professional counselor (LPC), gender therapists, gamers, writers, bloggers, activists, and pansexual guests to share their thoughts on a wide range of subjects. So join Amber, Ramona, Alexandria, Dara, Fionna, BWell, Kira, and Bunny for the biggest and longest transgender discussion you've ever heard.
Topics include: 1) Dating as a trans girl, and how men react when they find out. 2) Pop Music using LGBT themes in their music without being in the LGBT themselves, and if this appropriation is a good thing or a bad thing? 3) The WPATH Standards of Care for Transgender Individuals. Is it a good process, does it need help, or is it a bad process? 4) Transgender representation in movies, tv, and media. How it's so easy to use slurs like tranny. Why is it? Is it the porn industry? Religion? We discuss. 5) How it has become acceptable to make fun of and put down transgender individuals. Does this go back to ignorance, or is it something deeper? 6) PAX and the Penny Arcade statements from Gabe on transgender individuals, and having lgbt themes or characters in gaming. We all share that gaming is one of the first ways we started expressing ourselves. 7) We give our cisgender friend a chance to ask us anything he'd like. 8) Discrimination of transgender individuals in the healthcare industry. How our own personal experiences have been.
